Michelin-starred member and masterchef, Michel Roux Junior (father is Chez Roux's own Albert Roux), recently said in a Scotland publication that the overflow of reality television shows where would-be chefs compete is ruining the industry. Roux says that people need to remember that show hosts like Gordon Ramsey of Hell's Kitchen and Jamie Oliver of Naked Chef "sweated their nether regions off in the kitchen making their name first before they became celebrity chefs."
American viewers continue to tune in so only time will tell how this will effect the industry in the long run.
