Master Chef and creator of our fine dining restaurant Chez Roux, Albert Roux had a successful fishing trip on Lake Conroe at La Torretta Lake Resort and Spa along with Garret Donovan and Bruno Valette. Makes me want to escape on the lake on a fishing excursion.

Is Reality TV Ruining Young Chefs?

Michelin-starred member and masterchef, Michel Roux Junior (father is Chez Roux's own Albert Roux), recently said in a Scotland publication that the overflow of reality television shows where would-be chefs compete is ruining the industry. Roux says that people need to remember that show hosts like Gordon Ramsey of Hell's Kitchen and Jamie Oliver of Naked Chef "sweated their nether regions off in the kitchen making their name first before they became celebrity chefs."

American viewers continue to tune in so only time will tell how this will effect the industry in the long run.

This point does make us thankful to have Albert Roux and Matthew Gray leading our team at Chez Roux!

Taste of the Town

A few weeks ago, we participated in The Taste of the Town held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott & Convention Center.  Over 70 local food and beverage vendors and restaurants were there to show off their stuff!  Hundreds were there, including myself, and were able to walk around tasting everything...it was heaven! 

We featured our fine dining restaurant, Chez Roux.  Our dessert was a major hit!
